UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in Central Pa. has treated its first patient with a new therapy for in-stent restenosis (ISR), a condition in which scar tissue forms inside the stent, causing a previously opened coronary artery to narrow again. The team was the first to participate in a national clinical trial evaluating the technology back in 2021.

On Friday, October 25th, the Lancaster Chamber is excited to unveil a new mural located in the Truist Business Center on the 2nd floor of 115 East King Street. Funded by the Lancaster County Community Foundation’s Next 100 Year Board grant and created by local artists Jason and Katherine Horst of Horst Arts Center, the mural reflects the growth, diversity, and innovation that makes Lancaster a vibrant place to live and work.

UPMC Harrisburg has been redesignated as a Baby-Friendly Hospital, a prestigious recognition awarded by Baby-Friendly USA. UPMC Harrisburg has successfully met the rigorous criteria required for this designation, reaffirming its dedication to supporting breastfeeding and improving maternal and infant health outcomes. The Baby-Friendly designation is conferred for a 5-year period. The recognition was first awarded to UPMC Harrisburg in 2014.

In business for more than 25 years, Domani is based in Lancaster, Pa. and has four offices throughout Central Pennsylvania. Like most banks and credit unions, Traditions Bank has been looking for ways to drum up deposits. But the $808 million-asset bank in York, Pa., also had another goal: It wanted to boost its scholarship fund for girls graduating high school. So, Traditions launched what it calls the Her Traditions Scholarship CD, a 10-month savings product that earns an annual percentage yield above 4%. The bank makes a monthly donation to the scholarship fund in an amount equal to 0.01% of what’s deposited.

The South Central Transit Authority (SCTA), that oversees Red Rose Transit Authority (RRTA) transit services in Lancaster, announced upcoming public meetings to update the community on the progress of their Transit Development Plan (TDP). These public meetings are the second round of public meetings being held before completion of the plan.
