Atlantic League to Honor Dave Collins
(September 8, 2026, New York) – The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball will introduce a new postseason award in 2026, the Broadcaster of the Year, and the award will be named after Dave Collins who is retiring as the voice of the Lancaster Stormers at the end of this season.
Collins has served as Lancaster’s play-by-play announcer for more than two decades, becoming one of the most recognizable voices in Atlantic League history. He has called over 2,700 games since joining the Stormers in their inaugural season in 2005. From the early days of the Lancaster Barnstormers to the organization’s evolution into today’s Lancaster Stormers, Collins has been behind the microphone for countless memorable moments, championship seasons, dramatic victories and unforgettable plays. His calls have accompanied fans at home, in their cars, at work and throughout the Lancaster community, helping bring the sights and sounds of the ballpark to life for those unable to attend in person.
“It is only fitting the Atlantic League Broadcaster of the Year Award be named after Dave,” said League President Rick White. “He is highly esteemed among not only his peers but managers and staff throughout the Atlantic League. He is articulate, insightful and engaging. Moreover, Dave is an outstanding individual who has served the Stormers as a consummate professional.”
The inaugural Dave Collins Broadcaster of the Year Award will be presented following the 2026 season. Voting will be conducted by each league member and announced following the championship playoffs.
