LANCASTER, PA (September 1, 2026) – RKL LLP announced today that Mike De Stefano has officially assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026, as part of the firm’s planned leadership transition.

De Stefano succeeds Ed Monborne, who served as RKL’s CEO for 15 years. During Monborne’s tenure, RKL experienced significant growth, expanding from a regional accounting firm into a leading advisory firm serving clients across the U.S. and internationally. Monborne will retire in December.

De Stefano brings deep familiarity with the firm and extensive leadership experience to the role. He began his career in public accounting at RKL, serving in the firm’s Tax and Audit Services Groups for 14 years. De Stefano returned to RKL in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer and became Chief Operating Officer in 2022. As part of the planned leadership transition, Rachel Sargent assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer in August 2025.

As part of RKL Private Wealth’s planned leadership transition, David Morais succeeded Laurie Peer as President, and Tom Reardon became Executive Vice President of RKL Private Wealth, effective September 1, 2026. Morais joined RKL Private Wealth in 2018, bringing nearly two decades of experience in banking, financial services and wealth advisory. Peer will retire in December 2026 after 34 years with RKL.
