Ecological Design Consultant Lydia Martin to discuss native plants in local ecosystems

LANCASTER, PA — Discover the rich diversity of native flora with ecological design consultant Lydia Martin at the Friends of the Tanger Arboretum's May Nature program, “Native Plants of Hidden Valley.”

On Saturday, May 11, at 10am, join fellow nature enthusiasts at LancasterHistory for an informative presentation led by Lydia Martin. Drawing on her expertise and experience in managing the biodiverse Hidden Valley property, Martin will discuss the importance of native plants in local ecosystems and their benefits to wildlife. Her passion for ecological restoration and community engagement shines through her work, both at her 10-acre southern Lancaster County homestead and as the Director of Community Engagement for Let’s Go 123. This Nature Series program aims to inspire personal action toward supporting native plant growth and will leave attendees equipped to foster more ecologically beneficial landscapes in their own backyards.

Tickets for May 11th's program are $5 for adults (18+) and $3 for children 17 and under. Friends of the Tanger Arboretum members receive complimentary admission, but should still register for the program. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling (717) 392-4633. Advance tickets recommended as the program has limited capacity. The program will take place at LancasterHistory, 230 N. President Avenue in Lancaster.

The Friends of the Tanger Arboretum is a member of the American Horticultural Society Reciprocal Admission Program. AHS Reciprocal Admission Program members may register for tickets in advance and must show a valid membership card upon checking in.
