Steinman Communications Promotes Zimmerman, Frick and Schmid
Steinman Communications Steinman Communications announced today the promotion of Shane D. Zimmerman to Chief Executive Officer, Lauren V. Frick to President, and Christopher D. Schmid to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective April 1, 2025.
Shane joined what was then known as Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. in 2013 after a career in banking, during which he ascended to the position of Banking Director of Central and Northeast Pennsylvania for PNC Private Bank. Since his arrival in the Steinman family of organizations, Shane has filled many roles with the operating companies, other private businesses, the family office, and various foundations and foundation-led initiatives. He currently serves on the Steinman Communications board of directors and is a member of the board and chief executive officer of The Steinman Foundation. He also serves as the chair of the Lancaster County STEM Alliance.
In addition to the foregoing, Shane is an active board member of Lancaster Farmland Trust, the Steinman Institute for Civic Engagement, EDC Lancaster, Security National Trust Company and its parent company, HB&W, Inc. Shane also serves on the Investment Committee of the Lancaster County Community Foundation.
A lifelong resident of Lancaster County, Shane is a graduate of Elizabethtown College, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
Lauren joined Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. in 2014. Prior to her arrival, she administered estates and trusts for high-net-worth individuals through her position at PNC Wealth Management. She previously was engaged in the private practice of law concentrating in estate planning and family law. Since joining the Steinman family of businesses, she has served as corporate secretary for all the various for-profit and nonprofit entities in the Steinman portfolio, overseen the corporate governance practices deployed across the organization, and developed the risk management strategies used by the various portfolio entities. Lauren is also the president of The Steinman Foundation.
Lauren also serves on the board of Leadership Lancaster and the Lancaster County Local Journalism Fund. She’d previously served as President and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the New School Montessori and as a member of the Junior League of Lancaster.
She is a member of the Pennsylvania and Lancaster County Bars. She earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Lehigh University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore.
Chris started his professional career with Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. nearly a quarter century ago after four years in the finance department of a technology firm in the metropolitan Philadelphia area. He has steadily risen in the ranks of the Steinman family of businesses, most recently ascending to chief financial officer in 2024. Chris oversees all aspects of the financial reporting for all the Steinman family of entities and provides strategic financial guidance for the management team.
Chris attended Penn State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting.
