Thaddeus Stevens College Graduates Can Receive 50 Percent Drexel University Discount

(Lancaster, PA) — Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is pleased to announce a new feature of its relationship with Drexel University. Graduates of Thaddeus Stevens College are eligible for the Drexel Promise, which provides students who have earned an associate degree with a renewable scholarship for 50 percent decreased tuition as they pursue a bachelor’s degree at Drexel.

“Our mission is to open doors to higher education for students who might not otherwise have that available to them,” said Pedro A. Rivera II, Ed.D., president of Thaddeus Stevens College. “One of the ways we fulfill that mission is by creating multiple pathways to completion, such as partnering with other higher education institutions throughout Pennsylvania. This provides a direct route to continued education and a career in a high-demand field with family-thriving wages.”

Between 15 and 20 percent of graduates from Thaddeus Stevens College pursue additional higher education within five years of graduating. The College maintains several articulation agreements with other institutions to facilitate smooth transitions into additional learning opportunities. The College’s articulation agreement with Drexel was first announced in 2021 and enables students with an associate degree in computer and network systems administration or business administration to seamlessly pursue a related program at Drexel.

The Drexel Promise tuition discount is available to graduates holding two-year degrees from an accredited community college. With this program, Drexel works to reduce financial barriers and their resulting inequities for students. First offered to students in specific regions, the program was recently expanded to apply to students nationwide. Those receiving this discount can still receive other state or federal funding assistance. Applicants to a full-time, on-campus program should indicate their associate degree – no additional forms or applications are required. Criteria for admission at Drexel must be met. Full-time enrollment and a minimum grade point average of 2.0 must be maintained to receive the discount.
