McNees grows litigation team with addition of Amara Riley in Lancaster

New Team Member

Lancaster, Pa. (Aug. 4, 2025) – McNees Wallace & Nurick today announced that Amara Riley has joined the Litigation Group in the firm’s Lancaster office, expanding its courtroom and regulatory litigation capabilities across central Pennsylvania.

Riley brings more than 15 years of government and public sector experience to deliver clear and strategic advice designed to help businesses, professionals, and institutions navigate complex commercial, civil and regulatory disputes. She advises clients on commercial disputes, professional liability, regulatory compliance, general corporate matters and dispute resolution and negotiation strategies.

Before joining McNees, Riley served as an attorney advisor for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review, where she counseled appellate judges on complex legal and regulatory matters. She also gained significant trial and appellate experience as an assistant district attorney in Lancaster County, where she prosecuted hundreds of complex cases and frequently appeared before state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. Amara also served as a deputy judicial clerk for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

“Amara has spent the majority of her career in the courtroom, and she brings a level of focus and experience that immediately strengthens our team,” said Stephanie Carfley, co-chair of McNees’ Litigation Practice Group. “Her arrival reinforces McNees’ investment in expanding our litigation capabilities across central Pennsylvania.”

“I’m excited to leverage my skills and experience to help our clients achieve successful outcomes both inside and outside the courtroom,” said Riley. “McNees has a strong culture of collaboration and advocacy, and I’m looking forward to contributing to that tradition.”

Riley earned her law degree from UCLA School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in legal studies from UC Berkeley.
