EDC Lancaster County Selects Ezra Rothman as President
LANCASTER, PA, NOVEMBER 8, 2023 — EDC Lancaster County (EDC), Lancaster County’s leading economic development organization, has selected Ezra Rothman to serve as its new President, effective immediately. The appointment comes in the wake of a two-month search led by EDC’s Board of Directors and Winner Partners, a national executive recruitment firm.
In sharing the news with EDC staff, Liz Martin (President, Ironstone Spring Farm and Senior Advisor, Martin Insurance Agency, a division of Enders), who serves as Vice Chair of EDC’s Board and Chair of the Board’s search committee, acknowledged Rothman’s passion for the local business community, experience leading high-functioning teams, and overall dedication to the organization among the many factors leading to his being selected from the field of candidates.
“Ezra has a proven record of not only fostering relationships with Lancaster’s business and community leaders, but also with showing care and support for his peers within the organization,” said Martin. “As an internal candidate that’s already familiar with the Lancaster County business landscape, he is well-positioned to hit the ground running as the next President of EDC and have an immediate impact upon the organization’s efforts advancing the local economy.”
Having joined EDC as an Economic Development Strategies Manager in 2018, Rothman was appointed Director, Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships, in 2021, a role that saw him leading efforts to identify and cultivate revenue-generating opportunities and partnerships for the organization while pursuing long-term strategic initiatives benefiting the economic health of Lancaster County. During that time, Rothman led initiatives assessing broadband accessibility throughout the County; assessing and mapping water and sewer infrastructure across Lancaster County; and promoting strategic economic development opportunities within the County’s boroughs. Rothman continues to lead EDC’s industrial land efforts, partnering with planners, municipal leaders, and developers across Lancaster County to help businesses access the land needed to stay and grow in Lancaster County.
“Ezra’s experience with leading complex initiatives and bringing partners to the table will surely be an invaluable asset as EDC continues to expand and offer new resources to the local business community,” said EDC Board Chair Troy Clair (President & CEO, Clair Global). “As EDC continues to roll out its new branding, introduce a new membership model, and launch a variety of new financing programs, the Board is excited by Ezra’s ability to lead and confident in his vision for the organization.”
In his new capacity as President, Rothman will oversee day-to-day operations for EDC Lancaster County as well as its sister organizations: EDC Finance Corporation, EDC’s Center for Regional Analysis, and the Foundation of the Economic Development Company of Lancaster County.
“I believe strongly in the positive impact that EDC has had on Lancaster’s businesses, farms, and the overall economy over the past 60 years,” said Rothman. “I am energized by the passion and expertise of our team and partners, and I consider it an honor to lead this amazing organization and continue its tradition of helping the local business community thrive.”
