Creativity, Collaboration & Community: 2026 Square Halo Conference Returns March 6-7

LANCASTER, Pa. (Feb. 11, 2026) – Square Halo Books at The Trust Performing Arts Center, Lancaster Bible College’s arts and culture venue in downtown Lancaster, Pa., will present its seventh annual conference focusing on creativity, collaboration and community on March 6-7, 2026.

The conference keynote speaker will be Dr. Curt Thompson, author of “The Soul of Desire” and a contributor to the Square Halo book, “Ordinary Saints.” Other featured speakers and breakout session leaders include: music producer Roy Salmond; printmaker Steve Prince; singer-songwriter Matthew Clark; music therapist Elisa Chodan; Corey Frey, co-founder of The Well Collaborative; Byron Borger from Hearts & Minds Bookstore; and Tom Becker from The Row House.

Representing Lancaster Bible College as breakout session leaders will be Dr. Geoffrey Reiter, Associate Chair of Arts & Sciences Department and Coordinator of Literature, presenting on “Weird Fellowship: Lewis and Lovecraft on Creative Community.” Additionally, Matt Wheeler, singer-songwriter and LBC’s Assistant Registrar, will be part of a session titled, “The Listening Room,” where three musicians take turns performing songs they have written, as well as discussing what “making music to the glory of God” looks like in their practice.

Singer-songwriter Jon Guerra will present the closing concert at 7:30 p.m. March 7 as part of his “Invisible Things Tour.” The Austin, Texas-based musician writes devotional music, and his debut album, “Little Songs,” was released in 2015. He has also composed music for Terrence Malick’s 2019 film, “A Hidden Life.” His first devotional album was “Keeper of Days,” followed by “Ordinary Ways” in 2023 and “American Gospel” in 2024.

As in years past, Horst Arts will again offer hands-on activities, while two live podcasts are also planned for the conference: “The Habit” with Jonathan Rogers and “Square Halo” with Carey Bustard. Additionally, a theatrical experience and art exhibit will center around the new book, “Among the Lilies: The Song of Songs Annotated & Illustrated,” and Lancaster’s Nooks Gallery & Bookshop will host Leslie Anne Bustard’s “The Goodness Poetry Reading.”

Registration and the square Halo bookstore open at 8 a.m. March 6, with the first session beginning at 9:15 a.m. Learn more about the two-day event, including lodging and how to order tickets, at SquareHalo.org/conference.

In 1912, the Lancaster Trust Company finished its new headquarters—a Beaux Arts masterpiece from the imagination of Lancaster’s leading architect, C. Emlen Urban. A century later, Lancaster Bible College reimagined it into The Trust Performing Arts Center—a stunning venue for arts and culture in the heart of Lancaster. The Trust has a mission to honor God by encouraging excellence in the work of student and professional artists and by enriching the community through inspiring, challenging and redemptive experiences.

Founded in 1933, Lancaster Bible College provides an accredited university-level education for multiple careers with a focus on the Bible and a biblical worldview, Christ and Christian character. LBC’s mission is to educate Christian students to think and live a biblical worldview and to proclaim Christ by serving Him in the Church and society. In 2025, LBC introduced its new tagline, “Experience Different,” which highlights the college’s four key differentiators – biblical integration, authentic community, relational education and exceptional location.

Accredited through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation, LBC is also approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Association of Christian Schools International. Specialized accreditations are also in the areas of: Social Work (Council on Social Work Education), Music, Worship & Performing Arts (National Association of Schools of Music) and Sport Management (Commission on Sport Management Accreditation).
