Lancaster Bible College Communication & Media Arts Department Hosts Beyond ChatGPT Seminar

LANCASTER, Pa. (Jan 26, 2024) – Artificial intelligence. GPT. Chatbots. It may be seemingly impossible to keep up with the ever-changing technology that impacts everyday communication.

In an effort to make sense of it all, the Lancaster Bible College Communication & Media Arts Department will host a seminar titled, “Beyond ChatGPT: Easily Harness the Power of AI to Increase Your Creativity and Productivity in Business and Ministry,” from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Feb. 9.

Set for the fourth floor of the Teague Learning Commons on the LBC campus at 901 Eden Road in Lancaster, the event will seek to answer the question, “Are you prepared for the AI revolution?”

LBC Communication Professor Thom Scott, a veteran marketing expert certified in Machine Learning and AI for Marketing by the University of Virginia, will lead the seminar. With 35-plus years of for-profit and non-profit marketing experience, Scott brings invaluable insights into leveraging AI in business and ministry contexts.

The day will begin with a continental breakfast and networking opportunities to connect with like-minded business and ministry leaders.

Seminar topics will include the following:

Understanding how AI is reshaping the communications and business landscape.

Witnessing AI tool demonstrations—from textual, audio and video content creation to social media management and more.

Mastering AI’s role in data analysis for creating targeted strategies and informed decision-making.

Delving into ethical and faith-based considerations as well as biblical perspectives of using AI in your work.

Gaining a framework of knowledge to keep your business or ministry at the forefront of technological advancements—without wasting your time on tech fads.

Plus, valuable takeaways, such as a best-of-the-best list of resources for further learning and application after the workshop, as well as a directory of top AI tools to get started.

The seminar is geared toward business leaders seeking innovative ways to enhance productivity and creativity, ministry leaders looking to integrate modern technology in their work, communication and business college students, and anyone interested in understanding AI and its impact on business and ministry.

The early bird registration fee by Jan. 31 is $25 ($35 Feb. 1-9), which includes breakfast and materials. Space is limited; register and learn more at bit.ly/beyondgpt.
