LANCASTER, Pa., September 4, 2024 — Saxton & Stump is pleased to announce the hire of government relations liaison Denise M. Remillard to be part of the law firm’s Regulatory and Government Affairs Group. Remillard joins Saxton & Stump after spending more than 17 years in executive-level positions in state government in the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and in the Governor’s Office of Administration.

“Denise will be an outstanding asset for our Regulatory and Government Affairs Group through her knowledge of how state government operates and her network of relationships across the Commonwealth,” group chair Kathleen Duffy Bruder said. “For nearly two decades, she has interacted with leaders at local, state, and federal levels. Her work on economic development projects helped many entities navigate the state agency structures and obtain funding support. I had the pleasure of working with Denise over 10 years ago, and she was always a “go to” person to get things done. Her hard work and dedication to business and the public sector endeared her to leaders throughout the Commonwealth. Having Denise on our team furthers our firm’s mission to be the partner of choice for organizations and interest groups that seek to successfully navigate legislative and funding priorities that impact their businesses.”

In the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of Administration, Remillard was a special assistant to the office’s secretary and spearheaded a mental health campaign for the state’s 80,000 employees, among other lead positions on additional state programs.

At the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Remillard served as the director of economic development marketing, then as a special assistant to the secretary/executive office, and as the executive director for the Center for Community Services. She’s led programs such as the Pennsylvania Weatherization Assistance Program, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, the Community Services Block Grant, and the Neighborhood Assistance Program. She also directly supervised DCED’s six regional directors.

Before undertaking her government work, Remillard worked in media, marketing, and advertising. For almost 10 years, she was an associate publisher at Journal Publications in Harrisburg, in charge of Retiring Well and Central Penn Parent magazines and 11 other publications, including their websites and events.
