LANCASTER, PA - Decades is partnering with the Lancaster Public Library for a free retro adult winter reading program called Book Blasters. The program started on Friday, January 2, 2026, and goes through Saturday, February 28, 2026.

The partnership is inspired by classic Book-It reading programs. Adults can visit the Lancaster Public Library at either location (downtown Lancaster at 151 N. Queen Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 or in Mountville at 120 College Avenue, Mountville, PA 17554) to pick up a participation checklist.

Each participant has to read 5 books and, at the conclusion, will receive a $10 Decades gift card–and collectible retro pin–as a reward. The program is free to participate.

"Retro video games and books are my two main passions, so when Decades reached out to collaborate on a program so similar to every millennials favorite retro reading challenge, I knew we had to make it happen,” said Theodore R. Griffiths, Manager of Business Services & Circulation at the Lancaster Public Library. “Our resources are free to use all year, but thanks to Decades you can even get a few free rounds of arcade classics for using the Library. Now you can level up your reading and your high score at the same time during the Book Blasters winter reading program!"

The Decades team jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with the Lancaster Public Library to help level up reading for adults in the new year.
