Calvary Homes and Lancaster Bible College Partner to Launch Charger Hall @Calvary: An Intergenerational, Christ-Centered Living Experience

Member News

LANCASTER, Pa. (June 10, 2025) – Lancaster Bible College is growing, and with that growth comes the need for innovative, mission-driven housing solutions. In response, LBC and Calvary Homes, an independent senior living community affiliated with Tandem Living, have partnered to create Charger Hall @Calvary — a Christ-centered student housing initiative that blends Christian community, independent living and intergenerational connection.

Launching as a pilot program for the 2025–26 academic year, this unique living opportunity allows LBC juniors, seniors and graduate students to “Experience Different” by choosing a residential experience that fosters biblical values, mentorship and service while engaging with senior adults in a meaningful way.

As LBC welcomes more students to campus, the college remains committed to providing students with an education that is both biblically grounded and deeply connected to Christian community. Charger Hall @Calvary transforms the former Bausman Healthcare Center on the Calvary Homes campus into secure, independent student housing for LBC students. This initiative provides a Christ-centered, intergenerational living experience, allowing students to grow spiritually while maintaining the freedom and responsibility of off-campus housing.

“LBC’s growth has created a need for additional housing, and partnering with Calvary Homes allows us to meet that need in a way that reflects our commitment to Christian community and discipleship,” said LBC Executive Vice President Jael Chambers, noting record fall enrollments at LBC in 2024 and 2025, as well as the largest graduating class in college history in May 2025. “By choosing Charger Hall @Calvary, students will ‘Experience Different’ — not just in where they live, but in how they grow spiritually, build intergenerational relationships and become part of something bigger than themselves.”

LBC and Calvary Homes share a deep commitment to Christian faith and service, making this partnership a natural extension of their missions.

Charger Hall @Calvary provides students with unique opportunities to serve and engage within the community. As part of the partnership, students will be encouraged to make connections with Calvary Homes residents in spaces such as the café, fitness and pickleball areas. Additionally, a team comprised of representatives from both LBC and Calvary Homes will be exploring opportunities for life-on-life connection.

“This partnership reflects the heart of both organizations — to glorify Christ by creating intentional, intergenerational communities where people can grow in faith and purpose,” said Dale Weaver, Executive Director of Calvary Homes and VP of Strategy & Technology for Tandem Living. “Charger Hall @Calvary is so much more than a residence — it’s a place where students and senior adults can build meaningful relationships, learn from one another and shine as a light for Christ in the world.”
