LancasterHistory's 'Music on the Lawn' concert series returns for fifth season on July 12
LANCASTER, PA – LancasterHistory's Music on the Lawn series is back this summer, featuring a lineup of amazing bands performing in the picturesque backyard of James Buchanan’s historic home, Wheatland. This family and dog-friendly event invites attendees to relax and enjoy an evening outdoors with live music.
On July 12, Music on the Lawn kicks off the series with a concert celebrating Music for Everyone's 20th Anniversary, featuring father-and-son duo Jordan & Mark Rast, along with a special talk by Dr. Michael Jamanis on America’s musical history. During the concert, Music for Everyone will be accepting donations as well as hosting crafts for children and hands-on music-making opportunities with a variety of instruments. Local, sweet-treat favorite Mezcal Ice Cream will also be on-site selling delicious scoops while attendees enjoy the music.
The Philadelphia-based music collective Paul Geiss's Untethered and Jazz Trio, Jam will join LancasterHistory on August 15 for a jazz-fused evening perfect for any music lover. Music on the Lawn concludes for the season on September 19 with Lancaster-based singer and guitarist Matt Hostetter, whose musical style encompasses American roots genres such as folk, blues, and jazz.
Each concert takes place from 5-7pm at the LancasterHistory Museum & Research Center, 230 N. President Avenue in Lancaster, PA, on their respective concert days. Tickets for each concert may be purchased in advance online or by calling (717) 392-4633. Tickets will also be available at the door with cash or card. Tickets are $10 per Adult 18 years of age or older and free for Children 17 and under. LancasterHistory Members are free.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets, foldable chairs, and picnics. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are also welcome. Restrooms are available onsite.
