LancasterHistory to Host June Fundraiser at Headquarters Location with Games, "Pet Project" Adoption Fair

Member News

LANCASTER, PA — LancasterHistory is delighted to invite friends and supporters to its 2025 Annual Gathering, a summer evening of history and fellowship, on Wednesday, June 25 at its main headquarters on North President Avenue. Attendees can savor decadent light bites and refreshing cocktails, explore exhibits, and stroll the lush grounds of the Tanger Arboretum. Proceeds from the Annual Gathering benefit the education and public programs of LancasterHistory.

The evening will begin with cocktails and heavy hors d'oeurves at 5:30pm, followed by brief remarks by Robin Sarratt, President & CEO of LancasterHistory, at 6pm. Throughout the evening, special opportunities will be available for guest to engage with, including "Old Buck's" Wine Pull, lawn games, a sneak peek of new historic artifacts, and a "Pet Project" Adoption Fair.

The "Pet Project" Adoption Fair is a new program by LancasterHistory created to raise more funds to support specific projects within the organization.

"With this program, donors can select a project and their gift will go directly to funding that project and making it possible," said Erin Sell, Director of Development at LancasterHistory. "You "adopt" the project in that way and, at the conclusion of the project, you can say "I made that possible."

"Pet Projects" will range from purchasing supplies for the library and archives, such as book spine labels and archival boxes, to restoring Harriet Lane's Rococo writing desk, to supporting technological improvements for LancasterHistory's public lectures. Supporters of specific projects will receive occasional updates from the LancasterHistory staff member responsible for said project.

Tickets and Reservations

The Annual Gathering will be hosted at LancasterHistory's main headquarters on North President Avenue, and feature both indoor and outdoor elements. It is also themed as an elevated cocktail party with some table seating, but will not include a sit down dinner. Instead, heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served, along with a selection of beverages.

Tickets are now available for purchase, with various levels of support offered, starting at $100 per person. A portion of the ticket price is tax-deductible, with additional benefits for higher-level supporters, including name recognition in the event program. Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of payment, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP by June 16, 2025.
