LANCASTER, Pa. (Feb. 26, 2026) – The 2025-26 Lancaster International Piano Festival concert series continues at The Trust Performing Arts Center, 37 N. Market St. in downtown Lancaster, with Trio Chimera at 7:30 p.m. March 20.

Tickets are on sale now at lancastertrust.com or lbc.edu/events.

Trio Chimera consists of pianist Marta Ceretta, violinist Stefano Raccagni and cellist Giorgio Lucchini. Taking its name from “chimera,” a creature from Greek mythology that is threefold and allegorical, the trio also nods in tribute to Robert Schumann’s “Grillen,” the fourth piece in his “Fantasiestück Op.12,” as well as to the poem “La Chimera” by Italian writer Dino Campana.

Trio Chimera was born under the guidance of Patrick Juedt at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern, and the three musicians earned master’s degrees in chamber music. Studying with the Quartetto di Cremona at the Stauffer Center for Strings and at the Conservatorio A. Boito in Italy, the trio members have been perfecting with Henk Guittart in the Schoenberg Quartet since 2023.

The trio is an official member of the European Chamber Music Academy and has studied with Hatto Beyerle of the Alban Berg Quartet, Vera Martinez Mehner of Casals Quartet, Minna Pensola of Meta4 Quartet and Ernesto Molinari of Ensemble Klangforum Wien.

In 2022, Trio Chimera was awarded Best Italian Ensemble at the Filippo Nicosia International Chamber Music Competition. In 2023 and 2024, the trio won second prize and the prize for the best performance of a contemporary piece at the Luigi Nono International Competition, as well as first prize at the Lancaster International Piano Festival Competition.

The ensemble has played in many European cities, such as Budapest, Madrid, Paris, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Bern and Vilnius. In Italy, Trio Chimera performed at the 66th Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, the 40th season of the Società dei Concerti in Milan, the 113th season of the Società del Quartetto in Vicenza, the 55th Festival delle Nazioni in Città di Castello, the 23rd Festival Pergolesi Spontini in Jesi, the 25th and 26th Festival Viotti in Vercelli, and the 53rd season of the Amici del Loggione del Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

In 2025, the trio received the commission of new pieces by famous Italian composer Fabio Vacchi and American composer Kyle Rivera.

The Lancaster International Piano Festival returned to The Trust for the 2025-26 season, featuring four concerts with internationally renowned musicians. Violinist Peter Winograd and pianist Xun Pan kicked off the series on Sept. 13, followed by young piano sensation Miao Gao on Nov. 7.

Closing the season will be pianist Dr. Eric Fung with three members of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra — Dana Allaband on violin, Ken Bell on French horn and Luis Engelke on trumpet — performing at 7:30 p.m. April 25.
