Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health to Host Free Vaccine Clinic
The clinic will provide vaccines for children who do not have health insurance or who have Medicaid, and are 0-18 years old
Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health’s ChildProtect Program will offer a free vaccine clinic from 2 – 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept 5 at the Susquehanna Family Medicine Practice, 1159 River Road Marietta, PA. The clinic will offer vaccines for children who do not have health insurance or who have Medicaid (Medical Assistance) and are 0 – 18 years old.
LG Health offers immunizations against childhood diseases to children in Lancaster County at no cost through the program Vaccines For Children. Vaccines against chicken pox, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, Hib, Hepatitis A + B, HPV, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, meningitis, pneumococcal disease, polio, and rotavirus will be available. Tetanus and MMR vaccines for uninsured adults will also be available. Those attending the clinic will be able to schedule physicals and pediatric well visits.
The health and well-being of our patients and community remains LG Health’s top priority, and vaccines are an important part of supporting good health. Vaccine clinics are a convenient option for patients to stay on a regular vaccine schedule, or schedule a well-child visit with their primary care physician.
Vaccinations are required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for children to attend school. More information from the PA Department of Health can be found here.
To receive vaccinations at the clinic, minors ages 0 – 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Guardians must bring the child’s up-to-date vaccine record to receive vaccines. Children with CHIP medical insurance do not qualify for this program.
A flyer with information on vaccine clinics is attached here. Interested media should contact Olivia Kimmel to coordinate an interview. This work is made possible by our partners at Lancaster County Immunization Coalition (LCIC), Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition (PAIC), and Pennsylvania American Academy of Pediatrics (PA-AAP).
