Lancaster Bible College Hosts Free Gospel Choir Workshop on April 11

LANCASTER, Pa. (March 20, 2026) – Lancaster Bible College’s Music, Worship & Performing Arts Department will host a one-day Gospel Choir Workshop on April 11, 2026, in Good Shepherd Chapel, 901 Eden Road in Lancaster, Pa.

The free event is open to high school students as well as church and community singers who desire to learn more about the gospel style. LBC’s Director of Choral Activities Robert T. Gibson will lead the workshop from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by a free community concert featuring workshop participants.

The day’s schedule includes:

  • 9 a.m. — Singers arrive at Good Shepherd Chapel
  • 9:20 a.m. — Welcome & Introductions
  • 9:30 a.m. — Rehearsal
  • Noon — Lunch on your own
  • 1 p.m. — Final Rehearsal
  • 2:30 p.m. — Break
  • 3:30 p.m. — Gospel Concert in Good Shepherd Chapel (no tickets required)

Gibson is Director of Choral Activities at Lancaster Bible College, where his responsibilities include conducting all choral ensembles as well as instructing undergraduate courses in choral conducting, aural skills and choral methods. A Houston native, Gibson is also a conductor, composer and clinician who desires to develop future music educators for the next generation of music education.

He serves as a guest clinician with school, church and community choirs throughout the country in addition to festivals and honor choirs in Texas, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Tennessee, Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Minnesota and New York.

LBC’s Music, Worship & Performing Arts Department is to prepare students to become highly skilled artists who will influence the culture with grace and truth.
