ILLUMINATION 2025 — Prima Theatre’s Candlelit Holiday Concert Returns Freshly Reimagined to Offer Joy and Wonder in a Noisy Season
Lancaster, PA – December is crowded — errands, obligations, the endless scroll. Prima Theatre’s ILLUMINATION is an energizing pause button: a candlelit holiday concert that replaces the season’s noise with joy, wonder, and peace. Now in its 15th Anniversary Season, Prima has refreshed and reimagined the production for 2025 with new arrangements, choreography, and staging. ILLUMINATION runs November 21 – December 23, 2025, drawing audiences from across the East Coast into Prima’s intimate Lancaster space, where every seat is just a few rows from the performers. Directed and choreographed by Cody Smith with concept by Mitch Nugent, ILLUMINATION begins with stillness and gradually blossoms into a gathering of music, movement, and shared presence. Beloved carols and modern favorites are reborn in arrangements that highlight the closeness of singers, musicians, and audience, surrounded by hundreds of glowing candles. Last year, Lancaster native and Tony Award-winner Jonathan Groff attended and described the experience as “exquisite.” This year’s cast includes Krystn Ava, Caroline Ann Miller, Joshua Green, and Burke Hutchinson, with swings Korri Slamans and Charlie Bensinger, and a rotating featured solo dancer. “Whether five or 105, this is a holiday experience that restores something essential,” said Nugent, Prima’s Founding Executive Producer. “Each year we shape Illumination anew — a little stillness, a little wonder, a reminder of the joy that’s been here all along.” Photo & video resources: Illumination Media Assets Why It Matters Now In a season filled with noise, ILLUMINATION offers something rare: • Renewal – A chance to breathe and slow down. • Joy & Awe – A feeling that lingers long after the evening ends; like oxygen for the soul. • Intimacy – No seat is more than four rows from the performers. • A Living Tradition – Each year reimagined for a fresh experience Tickets & Information • Tickets start at $40 at primatheatre.org/events or 717-327-5124. • Special cabaret seating includes stage-level views available Performance Dates: November 21 – December 23, 2025 (Full schedule at primatheatre.org/events) About Prima Theatre Since 2010, Prima has become Lancaster’s home for bold, contemporary theatre and exhilarating live concerts.
