Decades Bartender / Thaddeus Stevens College Student Plans Food Drive
LANCASTER, PA - Josef Dunnenberger, Decades Bartender and Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology student, is coordinating a local Food Drive this holiday season from Friday, November 14 - Thursday, December 11. Donation boxes will be located mostly on the Thaddeus Stevens campus, along with another donation spot at Decades. “With recent events and the current climate of our country in mind, I wanted to create an opportunity for Thaddeus Stevens College students and the community of Lancaster to come together to support underprivileged individuals or food insecure families,” said Josef. “My mom works for Bridge of Hope, a non-profit serving families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the U.S., so I have always been aware of the systemic problems people face day-to-day. This inspired me to partner with Water Street Rescue Mission, to help reach their goal of 80,000 lbs. of food during this holiday season.” Items needed include canned vegetables, canned soup, boxed cereal, canned meats, coffee, pasta, pancake mix, cans of beef stew, and more. A full list can be found here. Josef hopes guests help support this food drive with whatever they may be able to donate, no matter the size or amount. “I encourage everyone to only give what is comfortable for them, every single food item donated is a success in my opinion,” added Josef. “I am grateful for all the support I have received in this endeavor, special thanks to Decades for collaborating with me on this effort!” The food drive begins on Friday, November 14 2025 and goes through Thursday, December 11 2025. Donation locations include Decades Lancaster and a variety of spots on the Thaddeus Stevens College campus.
