(April 28, 2026) – Together with community banking leaders from across the country, Bill O’Brien, one of the founders of Bank of Bird-in-Hand and the current Chief Lending Officer and Chief Revenue Officer, participated in a Financial Literacy Month Roundtable discussion with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and senior Treasury Department officials on Friday, April 24.

As one of fourteen bank leaders invited to participate in the Roundtable, O’Brien shared Bank of Bird-in-Hand’s longstanding commitment to financial literacy and the important role community banks play in building financial confidence, particularly through the lending process. “Our lenders don’t just collect the information; they assist customers in understanding their financial documents, help balance checkbooks, and educate on fraud and scam tactics.”
