Landis Communities, Lititz, PA, founded as Landis Homes in the early 1960s, began as a visionary effort by the Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities to create a Christ-centered community for retired mission workers, pastors, and others. Inspired by a call to build a true community rather than traditional care facilities, that vision has guided six decades of growth and innovation. Today, Landis Communities encompasses a family of organizations, including Landis Homes and Welsh Mountain Home, committed to serving aging adults through excellence, faith, and compassionate care. Rooted in Anabaptist values, Landis Communities continues to expand its mission through collaborative relationships and creative service to meet the diverse needs of older adults.


Landis Communities is seeking a strategic and relational Vice President of Advancement & Communications to join its executive leadership team. In this role, the Vice President of Advancement & Communications will lead fundraising and advancement efforts with a strong focus on building trusted relationships, fostering generosity, and communicating impact with authenticity and care. Building on recent fundraising success, the Vice President of Advancement & Communications will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to cultivate donors, guide major gift strategies, and strengthen a shared, team-based approach to relationship and donor development. Through purposeful storytelling, the Vice President of Advancement & Communications will help supporters connect their giving to a meaningful legacy, reflecting thoughtful stewardship and long-term vision. This Vice President of Advancement & Communications role offers an opportunity to lead with integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to service while supporting continued growth and sustainability.


Vice President of Advancement & Communication position qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Communications, or a related field; required

Minimum of 7 years of progressive executive-level leadership experience, including strategic planning, senior staff management, and organizational leadership; required

Experience in fundraising, especially in the development of major gift proposals; required

Demonstrated expertise in communications, public relations, marketing, brand management, and storytelling across print, digital, and social media channels; required

Demonstrated coaching and mentoring ability; required

Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and donor database systems; essential
