Sales Manager
Bird-in-Hand Corporation is seeking a Sales Manager responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that promote the Bird-in-Hand family of companies, including lodging, dining, entertainment, and shopping offerings.

Role Description The Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bird-in-Hand, PA. This position is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that promote the Bird-in-Hand family of companies, including lodging, dining, entertainment, and shopping offerings. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, managing relationships with group, corporate, and tour clients, and coordinating with operations and marketing teams to create attractive packages and promotions. The Sales Manager will prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, track sales performance, and maintain accurate records in the company’s CRM systems. The role also involves representing the company at trade shows and local events, conducting site tours, and collaborating with leadership to forecast demand and meet revenue goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Oversee the group sales relationships for the Family Inn, Restaurant, Stage and Artisan Village. Responsible for all group sales goals to include expectations on rates, bookings and space commitments.
2. Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements to create memorable experiences.
3. Track leads, produce contracts, forms, memos, and other documents.
4. Work well in a group environment for the benefit and common goal of the sales team.
5. Become proficient in our STS CRM platform and with necessary functions within the Lodging and Stage PMS systems.
6. Manage, lead, motivate and coach the Sales staff, including Sales Coordinator and Sales Associate. Ensure staff continue to meet established sales goals. Lead the performance management process through annual reviews.
7. Lead weekly Sales Department meetings.
8. Demonstrate the ability to multi-task in order to efficiently handle competing priorities.
9. Proactively identifies operational challenges associated with his/her event and works with the hotel/restaurant staff and guest to solve these challenges and/or develop alternate solutions.
10. Work closely with Sales Coordinators to produce the paperwork necessary for handling of contracts, deposits and payments to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
11. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills as you interact daily with our Guests. Build relationships and resolve challenges with Guests.
12. Assist with trade shows or events as requested.
13. Compile necessary reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include annual and monthly forecasts, budget, booking reports, pace reports and weekly sales updates.
14. Conduct monthly sales missions off-site to nurture existing relationships and explore new market opportunities.
15. Meet with and entertain clients as needed.
16. Coordinate with the Director of Marketing to ensure success of marketing efforts. Assist in sales strategies including special promotions and campaigns.
Requirements & Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
2. Five or more years of qualified hospitality sales experience with a proven track record of success.
3. Be self-motivated and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
4. Proficient in Word and Excel. Experience in Sales CRM systems.
5. Must demonstrate excellent time management skills.
6. Excellent customer service, communication, computer and organizational skills.
7. Must periodically be available outside of normal business hours. Ability to travel for two to four trade shows throughout the year.
