Learning and Development Coordinator

BASIC FUNCTION

The Learning and Development Coordinator is instrumental in designing, implementing, and evaluating employee development programs that align with our organization's strategic goals. This position is responsible for identifying training needs, creating engaging and effective learning materials, and facilitating training sessions for employees at all levels. The Learning and Development Coordinator plans and manages activities related to enterprise-wide Learning and Development initiatives like performance management, employee engagement, onboarding and leadership development.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A.    Responsible for conducting assessments of organizational development and departmental training needs. Analyzes assessments to determine learning and development needs. 

B.    Collaborates and partners with management and stakeholders to identify skill gaps and performance improvement opportunities while fostering open communication and a cooperative nature within the organization.

C.    Utilizes instructional design skills to develop customized learning and development programs to address needs with an understanding of how to design training that is both effective and efficient.  

D.    Develops engaging and interactive training materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, presentation and job aids. Curate and update e-learning content to ensure relevance and effectiveness. 

E.    Utilizes adult learning principles to ensure content is effective and helps employees maximize learning opportunities. Ensures content has relevancy and incorporates motivational factors such as recognition and satisfaction of achieving learning. 

F.    Responsible for facilitating and leading training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees and teams and is accountable for learning and development organizational improvement. Delivers learning, development and training content through various methods, including in-person, virtual, and self-paced learning formats. 

G.    Assess the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback, evaluations, and key performance indicators. Continuously improve learning and development by monitoring and enhancing training based on participant feedback and performance of employees/individuals.

H.    Promotes the use of learning resources and encourages employees to take ownership of their professional growth while fostering a culture for continuous learning and development within the organization.

I.    Provides technical support and coaching to individuals seeing assistance with utilizing e-learning platforms.

J.    Ensures that training programs adhere to relevant laws and regulations.

K.    Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and results. 

L.    Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Assures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.

M.    Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Director of Organizational Development.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education or relevant field; or Associates Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education or with two (2) years’ experience in the relevant field; or a combination of education and relevant experience which enables the individual to meet the standards and expectations of the position.
•    Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Learning and Development, Organizational Development or Training and Development required.
•    Three (3) years of experience in instructional design principles and/or adult learning theories.
•    PHR (HRCI) or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
•    Certification in training and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTD) is a plus.
•    Proficiency in e-learning development tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
•    Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
•    Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•    Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•    Ability to travel within GKA territory.
