Events Manager

The Lancaster Chamber is seeking a proactive, detail-obsessed event professional who can independently own logistics, budgets, and execution for multiple flagship events, while delivering a polished experience that reflects the Chamber’s standards of excellence and a spark for supporting Lancaster County businesses/community.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Events Manager oversees the planning, logistics, and execution of the Lancaster Chamber’s special events. This role manages budgets, vendors, venues, and volunteer groups while ensuring seamless event delivery and meeting the standards of excellence for participant experiences.


The Events Manager collaborates with internal teams on marketing and sponsorships, tracks event performance metrics, and identifies opportunities for enhancements. Acting as a primary contact for members, sponsors, and community partners, this position requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Directly manage the planning, budgets, execution and volunteer groups (as applicable) of the Chamber’s Special Events: 
    • Annual Business Meetings (4), State of the County, Membership Celebration, Small Business Summit, Hispanic Business Lunch, Agriculture Industry Banquet, and Economic Forecast.
  • Plan logistics such as vendors, venue, catering, schedule development, contingency planning, and other details (parking, support services, etc.).
  • Create agendas, presentations, resources, and other event content. Provide onsite management of guest speakers and vendors during events.
  • Manage, record, and track important data points including attendance, participant satisfaction and feedback, and financial performance.
  • Work with the Communications & Marketing team to coordinate the marketing, communication, content, and promotional strategies for annual events.
  • Research and develop new opportunities and/or enhancements to special events.
  • Coordinate the annual review of the Chamber’s logistical resources to determine price and feature consistency and look for efficiencies and/or enhancements, including venue (quality, price, features), catering, and support services.
  • In coordination with the Director of Events & Partnerships, manage the recruitment and renewal of sponsors for special events, inclusive of sponsorship cost development, sponsor tracking and invoicing, sponsorship fulfillment, and sponsor relationship building.
  • Respond to direct requests for assistance from members and volunteers and provide customer service to internal and external customers.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

  • Relevant Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in event management.
  • 3+ years of event experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines; ability to track finer details.
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • Outgoing, approachable, and able to build positive professional relationships.
  • Skilled problem solver with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to provide foresight, anticipate needs, and connect information across contexts.
  • Collaborative team player who also works effectively independently.
  • Self-starter with a record of taking initiative and ownership of projects and processes.
  • Ability to self-direct workload and prioritize.
  • Highly responsive, energetic, and committed to timely follow-through.

 

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to become proficient with CRM system and event registration platform.
  • Ability to use/troubleshoot basic event technology like laptops, HDMI, projection, etc.

  • Abide by and follow the Lancaster Chamber Employee Handbook.

  • Represent the Chamber in a professional manner.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and staff activities.
  • Support other team members, as needed.
  • Capability to attend and work at Chamber events that occur before or after normal business hours.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel independently to and from events and programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
