Cottage Support Staff – 2nd Shift
Bethany Children's Home is seeking a Cottage Support Staff to assist with the creation and facilitation of the daily plan of activities in a safe and nurturing environment. Cottage Support Staff are responsible for providing compassion, structure, care and guidance within a cottage setting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises youth at all times by overseeing daily routine of cottage living.
- Works with other team members to contribute to youth programming and service goals.
- Completes all incident and shift reports.
- Ensures cottage compliance with regulations and other program requirements.
- Is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of residents and property.
- Responds to crisis and emergency situations.
- Makes individual headcount checks and bed checks of cottages.
- Ensures security systems are functioning properly and follows procedure to respond to alarms.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Education, experience, etc.)
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
- Have previous experience in child welfare, youth work, child care or related field, preferably
- Performs primarily light work in a climate-controlled residential setting with frequent outdoor supervision.
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position:
Occasionally perform light work by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 20 pounds without assistance.
Move about on foot to complete tasks and move from one location to another.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb stairs, and stand regularly.
Have close visual acuity to prepare and analyze figures and data, to view a computer monitor and operate typical office equipment.
Have manual dexterity to grasp and manipulate objects.
Be subjected to occasional noise that would cause one to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
Be able to respond to a crisis situation and participate in physical interventions and tolerate prolonged periods of physical exertion which may include exhaustion.
Demonstrates a commitment to achieving a standard of excellence with procedures and outcomes.
Communicates effectively by balancing listening and talking, speaking and writing clearly and influencing others.
Demonstrates excellent teamwork skills by being helpful, accountable, respectful and approachable.
