Description
Come help get trees in the ground! We need lots of help to plant, mulch and stake over 45 native trees. All these trees will help make McCaskey East be an even happier place for students and our wild critter friends like birds and butterflies!
This project is supported by: Let's Go 1-2-3 and the McCaskey East Tree Team, the Mira Lloyd Dock Award, a Tree Pennsylvania grant, Orsi Lazar with the PA Department of Conservation and Nature Resource, and the Frank Albrecht Memorial fund.
If you’ve never planted a tree before, no problem! Tree expert Orsi Lazar will show us how to plant and tell us more about the native trees we’re putting in the ground.

This is a volunteer event that is free and open to the public. Volunteers will be offered a native tree or shrub to take home if they would like.

The tree planting itself is taking place on Saturday, November 9th from 10am-1pm (Refreshments available 9:30-10am). There are opportunities to help pre-dig holes on Monday, November 4th (1-4pm) and Wednesday, November 6th (9am-12pm). Weather plan: If it's rainy we’ll postpone until Saturday, November 16 at the same time (10am - 1pm).
