Hourglass Lancaster invites the community to a timely forum exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of education right here in Lancaster County. Featuring a keynote from Dr. Carrie Rowe and a panel of local education leaders, this conversation will examine how AI is being used in school administration, in classrooms, and in preparing students for evolving career pathways. Grounded in the realities of Lancaster’s schools and workforce, the event will focus on how we can maintain trust in our education system while ensuring students are equipped with the skills, judgment, and adaptability needed to succeed in an AI-driven economy

6-7:30- Program with keynote speaker Secretary Carrie Rowe, and panel discussion featuring Lancaster County educators.


Keynote:

Dr. Carrie Rowe serves as Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Education, bringing more than 25 years of experience in public education as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and state leader. In her role, she oversees the Pennsylvania Department of Education and works closely with school districts across the Commonwealth on issues including student achievement, teacher recruitment and retention, mental health, and workforce readiness. Dr. Rowe is a strong advocate for expanding college and career pathways, including dual enrollment opportunities, literacy initiatives, and programs that prepare students for an evolving economy. Prior to her state leadership role, she served as a superintendent in western Pennsylvania, where she focused on equitable resource allocation and expanding access to opportunity for all students.
