• Advocacy and Public Policy Insights: Enjoy happy hour and Q&A with GSL Public Strategies Group, a lobbying firm headed by John Bear, former PA Representative!

11:45 a.m. - Arrive at Pennsylvania Capitol Building - East Wing Entrance at the Fountain on Commonwealth Avenue

12:00 p.m.-12:45 p.m. - Lunch in capitol restaurant

1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. - Tour the Capitol and watch the House session

2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. - Meeting in Governor's Reception Room with Governor's Advisory Commission on Next Generation

4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. - Happy hour with GSL Public Strategies Group

Parking: Street parking is available nearby or you can park at 5th Street Garage in Harrisburg (5th St Garage, 6 N 5th St, Harrisburg, PA 17101). Walk down Commonwealth Avenue to the East Wing Entrance of the Capitol building from the parking garage. We do not validate parking.

What is the YPN Advocacy Chapter?

The YPN Advocacy Chapter serves to educate and empower young professionals to get involved in advocacy work that supports employers, employees, and the wider Lancaster County community. Our quarterly meetings provide updates on local and state policy issues, training on the legislative process, and opportunities to engage with elected officials. We also host civic engagement events in the community and take an annual trip to the state capitol!
