Meet the Panelists!

Beth Vulopas, Founder and Managing Principal, Chestnut Street Investment Counsel

Beth Vulopas leverages over 30 years of financial services and banking to grow wealth for clients at Chestnut Street. Prior to the firm's 2019 founding, Vulopas spent over 20 years at Wheatland Advisors independent investment advisory in Lancaster, PA. She began her career at Bank of Lancaster, now PNC, where she spent nearly a decade in roles including management and operations. Vulopas also worked as a personal money manager overseeing the finances of older adults. As a result of working extensively with clients who have varied levels of knowledge about personal finances and investments, clarity and transparency are guiding principles at Chestnut Street. "Knowing what you own - and understanding it - gives you power," states Vulopas. "When you receive your quarterly statement from us you understand exactly what you own, and what you're earning."

Kim Shorter, Chief Operating Officer, Lancaster County Community Foundation

Kim is responsible for most things that help the Community Foundation run smoothly and efficiently. She has a passion for customer service, a penchant for technology, an eye for detail, and has extensive experience providing effective leadership in both the for-profit and community benefit sectors. Kim graduated summa cum laude from York College, with a master’s from U of DE. She is proudest of the work she has done with her husband, Scott, in his ongoing recovery and triumphs following a massive brain aneurysm when he was in his late 20’s. Their dachshund, Penny and ginormous “cat-dog”, Bobby, graciously allow Kim and Scott to share their home.

Jen McCoy, Financial Planner, CFP®, Everence® Financial

Jen McCoy is a Financial Planner, CFP®, at Everence® Financial in Lancaster, where she works with individuals, couples and families to build a financial plan around what matters the most to them. She guides her clients to achieve their long-term financial goals. In 2023, Jen reached a personal goal when she trained and hiked 32 miles through the beautiful Alaskan wilderness.
