What happened?
On April 23, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) voted 3-2 to ban most non-compete employee agreements. The ruling makes it illegal for an employer to enter into or enforce non-compete clauses, affecting about 30 million employees nationwide. Non-compete agreements are used to protect confidential information, like trade secrets, job leads, or sales relationships, and are mostly applied to senior executives and skilled workers. The rule will go into effect 120 days after the FTC publishes it in the Federal Register.
At the webinar, you'll gain valuable insight into:
- What to do while the ban is litigated in court
- How to stay in compliance while protecting confidential information/trade secrets
- Things to consider as you update your hiring processes
