What to Expect!

Lancaster Farmland Trust’s development and communication professionals are thrilled to meet with the Lancaster Chamber’s Nonprofit Roundtable attendees for an engaging discussion on stewarding donors, growing your community of supporters, and using creativity in digital spaces to reach larger audiences. The session will feature presentations from LFT staff on development planning and strategies, as well as communication innovations, all approaches LFT has recently employed to reinvigorate its donor pool and engage the broader community in its mission to protect and steward farmland. The session will also include a robust discussion and brainstorming session on the use of social media to engage a wider audience in your own missions.

Meet the Speakers!

Amy Baumann: Vice President of Strategic Priorities

Prior to this, she held the Director of Grants and Gifts and Development Coordinator positions since joining LFT in 2018. Amy is responsible for the coordination and implementation of LFT’s development and communication strategies. Alongside her talented coworkers, Amy works to connect the community with LFT’s mission and sustain the organization through diverse funding sources and approaches. Before moving to Lancaster with her family, Amy worked at several non-profit organizations in the Philadelphia area. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University. She currently resides in Manheim Township with her husband and three children. Amy enjoys large family gatherings, Barnegat Light, and biking the country roads of Lancaster County. When she is not watching Arsenal, she is spending an unhealthy amount of time dedicated to her beloved 76ers, with the (so far futile) hope of seeing them raise the Larry O’Brien Trophy with her own eyes.

 Mikaela Bender: Communication Manager

As Communication Manager, Mikaela leads Lancaster Farmland Trust’s internal and external communications. She is responsible for strategizing and creating content, design, and promotion that further engages the public with the mission of LFT. Mikaela has spent her career in multiple NGOs, creating content and spaces that propel understanding, connection, and engagement. She loves Lancaster County and is passionate about protecting the land that makes Lancaster, Lancaster. Mikaela holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Lancaster Bible College, a Certificate in Typography Design from Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, and, most recently, a Mini-MBA Certificate in Digital Marketing through Rutgers Business School. She has served on the board of Lancaster Dollars for Higher Learning, where she chaired the Marketing and Development Committee. Mikaela enjoys writing, cooking, pottery, and spending time discovering new places with friends and family. A long-time Lancaster County resident, Mikaela spent many years in Manheim Township and now resides in Lancaster City with her husband, Jesse, and their cats, Shamps and Bo.
