What to Expect!
At this roundtable event, we’ll discuss the critical role nonprofit boards play in ensuring organizational success and long-term sustainability. A strong, engaged board provides strategic oversight, helps guide the mission, and ensures financial health. Best practices include defining clear roles and expectations for board members, fostering diverse perspectives, and ensuring regular communication between the board and leadership. By focusing on these best practices, your organization can build boards that not only serve as stewards of your mission but also elevate your organization’s impact.
Meet the Speaker: Bob Thomas
President of what was then known as Tabor Community Services (today known as Tenfold) from 2006-2018. Tabor was a non-profit provider of assistance to low income Lancaster County residents who were struggling with housing and/or personal finance challenges. Tabor served 5000 families annually through its 22 programs/services, 55 staff and a yearly operating budget of $5 million.
Before serving as Tabor’s President, Bob had a 33 year career in college/university administration and teaching including serving as a Vice President at Millersville University.
Bob’s presentation will be on the best practices for non-profit boards including roles/responsibilities of boards, fundraising, composition, recruiting, engaging, etc.
