What to Expect:

The interactive roundtable will equip participants with essential skills for composing effective grant proposals. The session will cover grant basics, tips for identifying funding opportunities, developing objectives, and crafting persuasive narratives. Participants are encouraged to bring their personal questions to the table for feedback. Through engaging discussion and an interactive presentation format, participants will leave with valuable insights and improved confidence in their grant writing abilities.

Meet the Speaker: Jennifer Powell

Jennifer Powell is a seasoned nonprofit leader, author, and fundraising expert dedicated to community, equity, and addressing social issues. Recently, as the Senior VP and Chief Development Officer at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, she led all aspects of fundraising, significantly growing revenue by over 500%, building the development team, and managing large-scale campaigns and events. Her impact extended beyond fundraising, spearheading initiatives in food security, hunger mapping, food rescue, healthcare partnerships, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Previously, as Executive Director of Clare House, a shelter for homeless women and children, Jennifer developed innovative programs that provided critical resources to families experiencing homelessness.

Jennifer also serves on various boards, is an alumna of Leadership Lancaster and Leadership Harrisburg, and was recognized as Fundraiser of the Year by the AFP’s Central Pennsylvania Chapter. Outside her professional work, she enjoys supporting her daughter’s competitive baton twirling and dance endeavors and spending time with her two cats, Snoopy and Lucy.
