What to expect:
The Power in Business in Society: Edelman Trust Barometer event is designed to provide valuable insights and resources for business executives, focusing on the growing role of business as a trusted institution in society.
The presentation by the Edelman Institute will highlight key findings from the Trust Barometer, emphasizing how businesses have become the most trusted resource in recent years. The discussion will cover the role of business in society and the evolving responsibilities of being trusted businesses in areas such as science, community challenges, globalization, the economy, technology, and AI.
Following the presentation, we will host a panel discussion to explore how local businesses and institutions can navigate leadership and build trust with their employees, stakeholders, and the greater community.
WHAT IS THE EDELMAN TRUST BAROMETER?
The Edelman Institute has studied trust for more than 20 years and believes that it is the ultimate currency in the relationship that all institutions — business, governments, NGOs, and media — build with their stakeholders. Trust defines an organization’s license to operate, lead, and succeed. Trust is the foundation that allows an organization to take responsible risk, and, if it makes mistakes, to rebound from them. For a business, especially, lasting trust is the strongest insurance against competitive disruption, the antidote to consumer indifference, and the best path to continued growth. Without trust, credibility is lost, and reputation can be threatened.
Edelman’s trust research, the Edelman Trust Barometer, turns the deep data we collect into real-world insights; our trust consulting platform, Edelman Trust Management, interprets those insights to help our clients plan, make decisions and take action; and our research institute and learning laboratory, Edelman Trust Institute, publishes data-driven insights that inform leadership, strategy, policy and sustained action across institutions.
EVENT OBJECTIVE:
Our objective is to equip business executives with the tools and strategies needed to embrace a 'business for good' mindset. We aim to provide insights on how businesses build trust with their stakeholders, so that we can effectively participate in or move the needle on greater societal challenges.
