In this session, we'll discuss how to equip yourself - and your team - to navigate difficult discourse in the workplace. Led by experienced attorney Donna Kreiser and Kim Wakefield, Senior Director of People & Development at McNees Wallace & Nurick, we will focus on strategies for addressing sensitive topics and managing challenging conversations in the workplace. You can expect valuable insights drawn from Donna's extensive experience managing initiatives across a variety of sector, including economic development, transportation, government, health care, and education, as well as Kim's 25+ years in human resources. Walk away with effective practices to foster transparency and constructive dialogue in your workplace. 

Meet the Speakers!

Kimberly J. Wakefield, Senior Director of People & Development

Kim Wakefield is the Senior Director of People Operations and Development at McNees, Wallace and Nurick. Prior to joining McNees in September of 2023, Kim served as a leader on the HR team of WellSpan Health. With over 25 years in Human Resources, Kim is dedicated to furthering the development of team members, increasing their engagement through creative solutions, and aligning the HR function with business strategies.

Kim resides in New Cumberland, PA with her husband, Jeff and is expecting their first grandchild in June 2024.

Donna Kreiser, McNees Wallace & Nurick

Donna is member-in-charge of the McNees Wallace & Nurick's Lancaster Office. She is a member of the McNees Strategic Solutions Group and the Public Finance and Government Services Group of the Firm. 

Donna serves as bond counsel, underwriters’ counsel, borrower’s counsel, trustee’s counsel and disclosure counsel to a wide range of public and not-for-profit clients. She regularly acts as bond counsel for state, county and municipal clients in Pennsylvania. Donna has counseled issuers on large-scale general obligation borrowings and toll road issuances. She has served as disclosure counsel in connection with a number of significant financings, including the issuance of unemployment compensation funding revenue bonds. Donna regularly acts as underwriters’ counsel and has counseled clients in connection with convention center, airport, hospital and health centers and solid waste financings. 

Donna previously served as a deputy general counsel in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel, where she served as OGC’s liaison on all public finance transactions undertaken by the Commonwealth and its various issuing agencies. As a result of this experience, and during the last twenty years, Donna has developed close professional relationships with key government officials at the local, county and state level. Donna is regularly called upon to offer her insights and unique expertise in many of the most complex local, county and state financings. Donna’s good rapport, credibility and strong relationships enables her to achieve positive and efficient results for the clients of the Firm. Her background and experience also serve her well in her role as Co-Practice Group Leader of McNees Strategic Solutions Group.
