We’re seeking businesses, organizations, and employees in hospitality, entertainment, arts, and tourism, including hotels and resorts, restaurants, event venues, performing arts organizations, museums and galleries, tour operators, travel and tourism agencies, and any workplace where creative and customer-focused professionals bring experiences to life.
Showcase your business/organization, share career journeys, and connect with high school juniors as they explore future career pathways!
TWO WAYS TO ENGAGE!
When you register using the registration button in the top right corner of this page, you will have the choice as to which way you'd like to engage!
1. Host an Employer Table/Demo--> make these careers come alive!
We're seeking employers to host demo or information tables. Bring interactive activities, displays, or materials that showcase what your business/organization. Through informal conversations and engaging demonstrations, you’ll help students explore career pathways in the HEAT (Hospitality, Entertainment, Arts, and Tourism) industries! You’ll have a standard 6-foot table to work with, but we encourage you to get creative in how you showcase your business or careers!
Demos we'd love to have!:
Fine Art: live painting, sketching, or sculpting demonstration
Graphic Design: designing a quick digital poster or logo using software
Theatre Arts: acting exercises, stage makeup, or prop/scene setup; live scene performance, costume/makeup showcase, or stagecraft demonstration
Photography: Live photo shoot, camera setup
Film: Short filming or editing demo
Culinary (Pastry or Chefs): decorating cupcakes, plating a dish, or demonstrating knife skills
Landscaping/Horticulture: plant arrangement, pruning, or hands-on mini gardening; showcasing design software
Event Production: setting up mini event layouts, table settings, or décor
Sound/Lighting: operating a mixing board, controlling lights, or demonstrating audio effects
Broadcasting: running a mock news segment, camera operation, or podcast demo
.... you tell us what you can do and/or if your company just wants to be present at the HEAT Day!
2. Be a Speed Mentor!
In this fast-paced, interactive session, students rotate through brief table top conversations with local professionals to learn about different careers, ask questions, and gain insights into the day-to-day work in your industry. We're focusing speed mentors on hospitality management, hotels and resorts, tourism, attractions, etc. but anyone from the broader HEAT industries can join us! No set up required – we just need YOU!
