Description:
"Agricultural marketing brings producers and consumers together through a series of activities and thus becomes an essential element of the economy. The marketing system as a whole has to be customer oriented." - Mazero Agrifood
Marketing is a priority for the success of any business, from small-scale, independent farms to multinational food manufacturers. Food marketing takes many forms and can involve building relationships with customers, raising brand awareness, developing new products, promoting them through advertising, and even paying grocery stores for prominent shelf space, all with the goal of promoting sales. Food marketing includes direct-to-consumer channels like farmers markets, roadside stands, food hubs, as well as farm-to-school, farm-to-institution, or sales to regional food aggregators. We can strengthen our community and contribute to rural economic development when we promote value-added, producer-owned businesses that link farmers with local and regional supply networks.
Join us to learn more about the best food marketing practices from the experts and producers themselves!
