About

Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Community Benefit Organization Partnership Application for: Let’s Go 1-2-3 Submitted by: Keisha Scovens, Executive Director – keisha@letsgo123.org Date: 2/19/2024 Attach a short description, no more than one-page, of how you feel participation in the program will help support your organization, what challenges you face, and where you feel the Chamber can be helpful. I feel that Let’s Go 1-2-3 participating in the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce’s Community Benefit Organization Partnership will open new doors and increase not only our impact, but also position us in a way to have increased partnership and internal growth opportunities. Being a VERY small and new-to-Lancaster organization, we are making slow and steady steps to reach more youth and families in, primarily, Lancaster City. However, with the support of a Chamber membership, we can likely make faster, more intentional connections to other organizations and people. Let’s Go 1-2-3’s mission is to alleviate barriers to outdoor experiences. Our focus has been on city communities, underrepresented, underserved, and/or under-resourced people, and communities. We also support and help organizations that would like to bring some level of nature or environmentally based education to their youth or adults. With a Lancaster Chamber membership, we can network with other organizations that align with our mission, and/or partner to provide a resource to people we might not otherwise reach. With Let’s Go 1-2-3 currently being led/staffed by two BIPOC females - Executive Director, Keisha Scovens and Director of Community Engagement, Lydia Martin, we are thrilled with the possibility of utilizing the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce’s resources specifically for Women in Business and are excited to be a part of the DEI Initiative. We have done some level of participation with the Reinventing Our Communities (ROC) Lancaster County Cohort that was spearheaded via the Lancaster County Community Foundation. However, this Chamber membership will be a more tangible, consistent, interactive way for our voice not only to be heard, but also an opportunity to hear and learn from other business owners in the Lancaster Capital Region.
